Bonfire Ritual Of Lohri Festival

Lohri marks the finish of the nippy winter. At night, after the nightfall, immense logs of woods are assembled and lit in the gathered fields. Genuine vivacious, carefree men and ladies hover around the rising blazes, do parikrama (turn around the campfire) thrice and hurl puffed rice, peanuts, and desserts into the fire, articulating "Aadar yes dilather jaye (May flourishing arrive and destitution blur away!)".

In the wake of imploring the fire god (Agni), individuals meet their relatives and companions to trade welcome and prasad (offerings made to the fire god). Hindus pour drain and water around the campfire. This custom is performed to respect the Sun God for his warm assurance.

Customarily, the offering includes five primary diners: simmered sesame seeds, jaggery, gajak, popcorn, and peanuts. At that point, tough, generous men beat the dhol (conventional drum) declaring the beginning of the celebration. Both lively men and ladies wearing bright ethnic clothing perform Giddha and Bhangra (well known society moves) revolving around the blaze.
